Biography
The Canterbury Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand, is a major cultural institution showcasing New Zealand and Canterbury's natural and social history, along with items from around the world. It was established in 1867 and initially housed in the Provincial Council Buildings, later moving to its current, heritage-listed Gothic Revival building in 1870. The museum features a collection of decorative arts, costume, and other artifacts, with some sections being temporary exhibitions. The museum also houses the Quake City earthquake attraction and Ravenscar House Museum.
